Volunteer Opportunities
Network Friend/Volunteer:
We ask you visit the person at the center once or twice a month.
REQUIRED: Criminal background check, confidentiality agreement, conflict of interest forms, and driving record check.
Function:
Network Volunteers participate in social activities as well as become a part of future decision making. Personal Support Networks focus on common interests and strengths rather than on disability.
Duties may include:
- Keeping track of programs and services.
- Identifying government programs and how to actively pursue them.
- Using connections in the community to help the person at the center realize their dreams.
- Help prevent abuse and neglect.
- Problem-solving and dealing with the unexpected.
- Help finding housing.
- Assistance with finding employment.
- Weekly contact with the person in the center.
- Providing support with trusts.
